Macit KaraahmetoÄŸlu was born in Rize (Turkey) in 1968. He came to Germany at the age of 11, where he quickly learned the German language through intensive support at secondary school and participation in cultural and sports clubs. After completing his secondary school education, he studied law in Tübingen and Heidelberg. After completing his legal clerkship, he founded his own law firm in Ditzingen in 1997, which now employs 20 people. KaraahmetoÄŸlu works primarily as a specialist attorney for copyright and media law.
He has also been contributing his legal expertise to the political work of the SPD parliamentary group in the Bundestag since 2021 as a member of parliament for the Ludwigsburg constituency. He is a full member of the Legal Affairs Committee, the Committee on Election Scrutiny, Immunity and Rules of Procedure, and a deputy member of the Foreign Affairs Committee.
KaraahmetoÄŸlu is district chairman of the SPD Ludwigsburg and chairman of the board of Samariter-Bund Baden-Württemberg e.V. Stuttgart Region. He is married and has one son.
